Ruth Katherina Martha Plau was born on 9 September 1929 in Leipzig Germany. Ruth Katherina Martha Plau is the German and Pakistan citizen. She was in the profession is a doctor. Ruth Katherina Martha Plau moved Germany to Pakistan and she devoted her 55 years to Pakistan.

In the second world war, her house destroyed. She moved west Germany with her family. At the year of 1950, she studied in the University of Mainz. In 1957 she went to Paris and joined the daughter of the heart of Mary a catholic order.
In 1960 she came in Pakistan. Ruth Katherina Martha Plau rescues the people of Pakistan and she also goes to Afghanistan to rescue the people. She visited many places in Pakistan.
At the age of 31 in 1960, she decided to save humanity and she went to Pakistan. In 1963 she bought the A Leprosy clinic and served the overall patient in Karachi and her also across the Afghanistan border for treatment.
In 1979 Government of
Pakistan appointed her in Federal Advisor Ministry of health and social welfare. The area of Pakistan she wants to visit where is not a medical facility for leprosy patients.
In the year of 1988, she awarded Pakistan citizenship. On 9 September 1999 Pfau celebrated her 70 birthday with Muslims and Christians together.

On 10 August 2017 around 4:00 AM she died at the Agha Khan University Hospital Karachi due to respiratory problems. She refused to live supported machine and she said want to live in natural life.

In 2010 she award Nishan-i-Quaid-e-Azam award and Sitara-i-Quaid-e-Azam award.
